Málaga Club de Fútbol and Jesús Gámez have signed an agreement for the Fuengirola born right back to continue with the club until the 2013/14 season, which improves the conditions of his actual contract with Málaga.
After the recent renewals of players who have come through the ranks like Apoño or the youngster Juanmi, the Club strengthened its project with the continuance of its second captain for the first team and, at the same time, one of its role models for quality and consistency with Málaga Club de Fútbol. Gámez will have a buy out clause of 20 million Euros.
Jesús Gámez statement to the Media
"We have all done our bit and we are all satisfied. The Club has shown its appreciation of all my efforts as I wished and it reflects in the contract with which, in truth, I’m very content. It is a step, which goes to serve as an example for all the young footballers. For a club to value its home grown players is not easy, in this case it has been achieved and there are going to be more cases, like that of Juanmi. It is very important that Málaga keeps on growing".
"The project is ambitious and it seems to be going well, but you have to go step by step. You have to keep your feet on the ground and be united, Málaga is not going to convert into a big club overnight. I’m very happy with the Club, the fans like me and I believe I have done the right thing".
