Javi Ramos: “There’s room for manoeuvre”

The Blue and White coach defines the draw against the Valencia reserve team as “fair”, and is “convinced” the girls will win the necessary points to remain in Reto Iberdrola.

Review of the 1-1 draw

“It was a game with many phases. We started off very well, but their keeper made two very good saves. We made a silly foul that cost us their goal. However, thanks to Edna’s goal the team reverted back to being how they were in the opening stages and we ended the first half well. The second half was more give and take, with many transitions and the rival seeking out our mistakes to launch counterattacks. Any team could have won, so a draw is fair. This point should be valued as now we have a home game coming up so we must make the most of it”.

Goal-scorer Edna

“Edna played a very good match. She’s been pumped up all week. We made a last-minute change, I was guided by the feelings from training sessions and I liked what I saw yesterday. When you see players with that ‘spark’, particularly those upfront, you have to put them in”.

12 points, 4 finals

“We’re not a team of transitions, we’re a team that likes to have control of the ball and we have to adjust to these situations. There are four games left, we need to win two at home and score points in one of the away fixtures. We’re up against direct rivals, we have mathematical options, and the team has to continue to gain confidence. There’s room for manoeuvre, there are 12 points remaining and I’m convinced we’ll win points”.
