Javi Jiménez signs until 2023

The left-back, who was part of Atlético Malagueño in the 16/17 season, joins Málaga CF from CD Mirandés with a contract for two seasons.

The player’s contract with the Burgos outfit in LaLiga SmartBank ends on 30 June, where he was under the orders of Blue and White coach José Alberto López, and he arrives at Martiricos on a free transfer.

Javier Jiménez Moreno (Quesada, Jaén, 1996) started out in the Villarreal CF youth ranks. His link with Málaga CF, with Club Atlético Malagueño, goes back to the 2016/17 season. A highly complete campaign on an individual level, and an undisputed member of the starting line-up on the left wing, in which they missed out on Segunda B promotion in an epic final playoff against Madrid side Unión Adarve.

In 17/18, Javi signed to Club Gimnàstic de Tarragona, where during a season and a half he played 37 matches (36 in the Second Division and one in the Copa del Rey). Subsequently, in the bronze division, he joined Cultural Leonesa (18/19) and Cornellà (19/20), the latter with whom he took part in the promotion playoffs to LaLiga SmartBank.

In the past 20/21 season, Javi Jiménez returned to the silver division, with a notable individual performance (playing 33 games – 32 in the League and one Cup clash), and also collectively, with Mirandés ending in 10th place in the league, securing their place in the category.

Great power and quality on the pitch, coupled with humility and camaraderie in the dressing room. He cannot wait to return to a Club and a city where he feels at home. Your signing brings great joy to the Malaguista Family! Welcome back, Javi!
