Isco receives the 2011-2012 LFP ‘Best Newcomer’ Award

Málaga CF’s Isco Alarcón has been given the Professional Football League’s (LFP) ‘Best Newcomer’ Award of the 2011-2012 season.

“I’m so happy and proud of what the team has achieved over the last season, as well as my personal performance.  I hope that I can continue playing well, both for me and for Málaga” states Isco.

One of the key factors in the player’s success has been coach Manuel Pellegrini, who has given him a lot of responsibility and shown faith in him on the pitch.  “It’s been great for me as Pellegrini has entrusted me with a lot of responsibility in matches, and I’ve enjoyed performing as well as I can to live up to his expectations.  I’ve had such amazing support from everyone, the fans, my team mates…which is so important to the game.”

“We got off to a great start this season and have fulfilled all our objectives so far, as well as performing well in the BBVA League.  The sky’s the limit I think!  We focus on each match at a time, and play as well as we can, regardless of the rival.”

The key to the players’ success according to Isco; “We always keep our feet on the ground and work as hard as possible.  Our focus now is to maintain our motivation, and winning an award like this is a great honour.”
