Isco: “I still haven’t debuted at La Rosaleda”

The Málaga striker, Isco Alarcón, spoke to the media this Wednesday morning in the Ciudad de Malaga stadium press room.

Isco’s statement:

(Victories with Spain’s Under 21s). “It’s always a pleasure to go with the national squad, even more with the Under 21s, and I’m happy with the result and with the game that was played.  I’m very happy with the title and the victory.  We’ve played well and had a good time on the pitch. In the first half there were many more goals, and you enjoy that more, it was a good debut and I’m very pleased. I have to move forward step by step and give all that I can, things are working out well for me and I hope to carry on this way.  Things are moving very fast; before the summer started I began with the Under 19s, then the Under 20s, now the Under 21s, I honestly didn’t expect it and I’m very proud of what’s been achieved so far. The Montoya effect? He motivates us to continue working and, if they’re calling up younger players, it means that what we’re doing is right in order to play for the national side.

(Goal against Georgia). “It was a good goal; it was one of the best (of his career).  Canales saw me well and I took control and it all worked out perfectly.”

(Málaga CF). “Now it’s down to work with the team, and we’re full of enthusiasm and the training sessions are full-on.  Will he play?  I don’t decide that, that’s down to the coach; we’re focusing on the training sessions.  Baptista out?  We’re not going to lose focus in my team, with his being out; there are more possibilities to earn minutes.  I still haven’t debuted at La Rosaleda, and it’s an exciting dream to debut at the stadium with your people and team. Friends and family (from Benalmádena) will be there.
