Second Master in Sports Management is inaugurated!

The Master in Permanent Training in Management and Marketing of Sports Entities of Málaga CF and the University of Málaga kicked off its second edition with an opening ceremony held on Wednesday afternoon at the Faculty of Commerce and Management. Malaguista coach Sergio Pellicer and Unicaja Baloncesto coach, Ibon Navarro got things started with a master class.

A new start and full of enthusiasm. This Wednesday 25th October, the second edition of the Master in Permanent Training in Management and Marketing of Sports Entities of Málaga CF and the University of Málaga got underway. It will continue over the next year with 12 students participating, including Malaguista goalkeeper Alfonso Herrero.

The event took place at the Faculty of Commerce and Management, one of the locations of this postgraduate training course, along with La Rosaleda Stadium. Both the Club and UMA were represented at this opening ceremony, as well as a large group of teachers and students.

On behalf of Málaga CF, judicial administrator, José María Muñoz sat at the speakers' table. Representing the university were the dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Management, Benjamín del Alcázar; and Daniel Palomo, director of the Master. Furthermore, as deputy director of the Master's Degree, Ana Vera completed the management committee. MCF’s general manager, Kike Pérez was also present.

The inaugural lesson was given by Málaga CF coach, Sergio Pellicer, and Unicaja Baloncesto coach, Ibon Navarro. Both coaches presented their lessons based on real experiences and answered all questions from those present.

Sergio Pellicer stated that “continuous learning is essential. I have had the pleasure, and the big surprise, of knowing that Alfonso is here. I have seen a great deal of excitement amongst the lads. Sports management has experienced great advances in recent years. They will be more than prepared,” he said about this second edition.

Meanwhile, Ibon Navarro said that “one of the best places where a manager can train is within entities like Málaga CF, which has a very long history in the world of football. Alongside the university, I think this is a good foundation to ensure everyone is prepared. The relationship with Málaga CF means that, in addition to theory, they will make the most of the experience that they can apply in the future,” he said to the MCFTV cameras.

The Master in Permanent Training in Management and Marketing of Sports Entities consists of six modules: Strategic Management, Financial Management, Technical and Human Management, Strategic Marketing, Digital Marketing and Communication, and Marketing and Development of Lines of Business. An education that is completed with 140 hours of internships in companies and outstanding professional opportunities.

The inaugural event concluded with a group photo and an honorary cocktail for attendees.

Students will receive the best postgraduate education thanks to the alliance between Málaga CF and the UMA, led by professionals from well-renowned companies in the world of sports management.
