Nasser and Nayef Al Thani welcomed Paralympic champion Carmen Herrera; ex Malaguista player, Javier Fernández and a group of MBA students from LFP-UCAM.
Málaga-born judo star, Carmen Herrera is one of the most well-known athletes in the Paralympic arena. She won three gold medals in the last Paralympics; Athens (2004), Beijing (2008) and London (2012), and last Thursday announced her retirement. Today she told vice president, Nasser Al Thani about her plans for the future, educating young people about her sport, Judo, in which she’s demonstrated she’s a master of motivation.
Javier Fernándezattends College Europa Football Club in Gibraltar, although in recent months he has been focusing on overcoming testicular cancer. Today he visited the Authorities Box of the Blue and Whites’ stadium, accompanied by oncologist, doctor Antonio Rueda. He’s enjoyed a lengthy sporting career from his birth place of Torre del Mar to Bratislava, passing through Ronda, Toledo and Vélez. Nothing will compare to the main victory of his life which today he shared with Málaga, in what was and will be his home.
Last Friday, students from MBA Sport Management, called-up by LaLiga and UCAM, visited La Rosaleda stadium and enjoyed a brief informal chat about the main characteristics of the Cluband its management models. A group made up of students of 20 nationalities enjoyed the match against RCD Espanyol, and conversed with the Malaguista vice president and adviser, Nasser and Nayef Al Thani. Curiously, one of the students worked for a time in Qatari football.
Everyone enjoyed the match at La Rosaleda thanks to the invitation by the MCF Foundation.
