Haitam’s African adventure comes to an end
The homegrown Malaguista and his national squad were defeated in the quarter-finals of the African U-20 Cup of Nations taking place in Mauritania.
The Málaga CF player won last night with Morocco against Tanzania, to qualify to the quarter-finals of the Africa U-20 Cup of Nations in Mauritania.
Haitam Abaida played his third match in the first phase of the African tournament. He was in the starting-11 and played for 45 minutes, being substituted at half-time.
Morocco enjoyed a big win against Tanzania (3-0) in the third match in Group C, whilst Gambia beat Ghana by 1-2 in the other group clash. As such, the North African Under-20s go through to the next round at the top of the group with seven points (two victories and one draw, scoring four goals and not conceding any).
Morocco’s rival in the quarter-finals of the competition is Tunisia. Haitam will be seeking a place in the semi-finals on Friday 26th February.

Another point for Haitam in Mauritania
The young Blue and White winger drew with Morocco last night against Ghana in the second match of the U-20 Africa Cup.
