The Blue and Whites team left for Almería with every intention of bringing three points home, against the bottom of the group team. The boys played with the same level of intensity as the previous match against the group leader, aware of the difficulty of any match regardless of the rival.
The ‘Malaguistas’ took control of the match from the start, and continued to dominate as time went on. Cala put the Blue and Whites on the leader board in the 24th minute, as he cruised the ball past the local keeper. The intense defending from Clotet’s team prevented the local side getting anywhere near the goal. A second goal for the visitors by Emilio Guerra 15 minutes into the second half confirmed their dominance of the game.
Atlético Malagueño continued the fast-paced rhythm of play, creating numerous goal opportunities. Paco Aguza sealed the Blue and Whites’ victory in minute 73, to end the match with a 3-0 victory and a great performance from the visitors.
