Málaga CF coach, Javi Gracia held a press conference in the Juan Cortés press room at La Rosaleda following his team’s qualification to the next round of the Copa del Rey.
Gracia comments: “Tonight’s victory is down to a lot of hard work, we struggled in the first leg to gain a positive result. We took advantage of our counter-attacks in tonight’s match and made the most of our goal opportunities, which ensured we all enjoyed a fantastic night.”
Following Deportivo’s equaliser, Gracia decided to bring on Amrabat just after Recio’s goal: “We thought that he’d join Roque up front, but we opted to maintain continuity on the attack as we knew that conceding another goal would cause problems for us.”
The ‘Malaguista’ manager is now focusing on the last match of 2014 against Elche CF, taking place on Sunday: “They are in need of points and will go all out to win this weekend. I want to see an ambitious, demanding performance in Elche and I hope we claim the three points. We’ve got the ideal opportunity to end the year on a positive note.”
