II Getxo International Cup Post
La Academia’s Benjamín B took part in the II Getxo International Cup Post last weekend. More than 40 Benjamín, Alevín and Infantil teams were involved in this tournament, including Valencia CF, Athletic de Bilbao, Shalke 04, Vasconia and Logroño.
Málaga defeated the Getxo local side by 0-7 last Friday, were defeated by 2-0 against Athletic, and beat Perinés by 6-0. On Saturday, Málaga achieved a great win against Vasconia by 7-2, Santa Coloma by 2-0 and Babozelai by 3-1. Despite these results, they didn’t reach the final stage of the competition, and were beaten by Valencia CF. Shalke 04 were Alevín champions, and Real Zaragoza, champions of the Infantil category.
II Antonio Dorado Bergillos Regional Tournament
In celebration of the centenary of Moriles, and in honour of all the players from this Córdoba town, the II Antonio Dorado Bergillos Regional Tournament in the Benjamín category took place last Saturday 23rd June. Teams taking part included Real Jaén, Real Betis, Málaga CF, Sevilla FC, Granada CF, Figueroa CD, CD El Palo and Moriles CF. The Blue and Whites reached the semi-finals, where they were defeated by Seville by 3-0. In previous matches, Málaga lost 2-1 to Betis, defeated Figueroa by 4-0 and local side Morilles by 0-3.
