Genuine Malaguismo

The MCF Foundation has fulfilled one of its most sought-after objectives, the creation of the Escuela de Fútbol de Discapacidad Intelectual (EDI). A goal achieved which proves that dreams can come true.

Enthusiasm, smiles… and lots of excitement. With these ingredients the stars of Málaga that will form part of LaLiga Genuine were presented. And with a lot of courage, as you have to be brave to step on to the stage at the Edgar Neville Auditorium, which hosted this historical event. However, when what moves you to get up there is the Malaguista feeling, the fear dissipates, and these guys have a Blue and White heart. They, without doubt, represent the Club’s values, and are genuine Malaguismo.

If anyone understands this feeling and the Blue and Whites’ values, it’s the co-host of the gala, Basti, who admired the passion of the Málaga Genuine team for the team crest. “When I debuted and put on the Málaga CF first team shirt for the first time, it was a dream come true. However, the other day these guys visited the dressing room at La Rosaleda, when they entered they took the shirt, gave it a kiss, that smile, those bright eyes… it far exceeded the first time I wore the Málaga shirt, truthfully”, he stated.

The Málaga CF Foundation has therefore managed to make one of its most coveted objectives come true: creating the Escuela de Fútbol de Discapacidad Intelectual (EDI). This achievement joins others the Foundation is undertaking – Blue and Whites’ Values, ‘Siempre Fuerte’ Awards, and a whole host of charity events – helping to enhance the image of the Club that this week has seen an immensely positive movement on social networks.

Málaga CF, in turn, wants to recognise the fundamental support of the sponsors of this new project: Málaga-based Vipesa, the principal sponsor; Diputación Provincial, who also loaned out the Edgar Neville Auditorium; and Obra Social LaCaixa, once again linked to the MCF Foundation as has been the case in recent years.

In attendance at the event were vice president of the Club, Nasser Al Thani, as well as Board member, Rakan Al Thani and CEO of The Academy and president of Málaga CF Femenino, Hamyan Al Thani; the three Club advisers, Antonio Benítez, Abdullah Ben Barek and Francisco Martín Aguilar; as well as a vast representation from all departments within the Club. Málaga City Hall and the main public bodies of the city and province were also represented at this historic gala.
