Gallar: “I couldn’t wait to get back”

The Malaguista, who played the entire second half of #MálagaTenerife, held a post-match press conference. “We have to start from yesterday, we’re working against the clock and we know it,” he said.

Álex said he’s “very excited” and wanted to explain the last few months, both from a professional and personal point of view: “I’ve had some physical discomfort and a very upsetting situation. I’ve been patient, as I had to be. The Club has been by my side throughout and respected the time my family and I needed. I was really looking forward to returning to my teammates.”

Knowing the importance of the match and that “one point wasn’t enough,” the Blue and White number '11' stated that they tried “until the end. After conceding it took us five minutes to react, but with Rubén's goal we tried. We’re close to winning games and it's all about winning at La Rosaleda. The Club is getting stronger and the people who are coming will help us a great deal,” he commented.

Lastly, Gallar was critical of the team's first round: “The numbers speak for themselves, we’ve not been up to the level of the Club. Now it’s a clean slate, we have to start raising the bar and be better as a team. Matches like today's need to go more in our favour and we need to keep a clean sheet.”
