Málaga CF Femenino defeated CF Unión Viera away from home on matchday 13 of Segunda Federación Grupo Sur. A goal from Futu in the closing stages led the Blue and Whites to victory.
The first official match of the year for MCFF took place away from home at the Alfonso Silva in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
Equality prevailed throughout the first half, with Unión Viera well-positioned on the pitch against a very solid Málaga. A header from local player Ame was the best chance in minute 37 of the first half.
In the second half, María Cortés appeared twice. The first, in 54’, with a shot from distance that sailed near the right post. Then in 63’ a direct free kick grazed the left post.
The exchange of shots between both teams remained, but Juanma's changes made the difference in the final stretch. Cadete Carla Aguilar and Futu came off the bench to start and finish the play for the winning goal. Torralvo assisted Futu and the top scorer put the Blue and Whites in the lead (0-1, 86'). The fifth goal of the season for the Malaguista number '11'.
At the final whistle the first three points of 2023 went to Málaga Femenino who have accumulated 26 out of 13 games to remain in the top part of the standings. Next week the girls will host one of the top teams in the division, Balears FC at the Francisco Romero (Rincón de la Victoria).
