Futu and Ruth seal victory in Valencia (0-2)

Málaga CF Femenino defeated the Valencia CF Femenino reserve team away from home on matchday 20 of Segunda Federación Grupo Sur. Goals from ‘pichichi’ Futu and captain Ruth secured the win.

Blue and white coach Juanma Gómez’s starting-11 featured Andrea in goal; Encarni, Mérida, Ruth and Yoli Peche on the defensive line; Tati and María Cortés on the double pivot, with Marilén and Bertuchi on the wings; and Futu and Monterroso upfront.

The Malaguista squad got off to a determined start at the Ciutat Esportiva de Valencia, and after the first quarter of an hour took the lead on the scoreboard. Silvia Mérida assisted Futu who continued her scoring streak and put the ball into the net (0-1, 20'). The eighth goal for the 'pichichi' this season.

At half-time, MCFF held on to their lead. Then in the second half, Juanma refreshed the wide zone introducing Nazaret from the Canary Islands for Tati (54'). Young Carla Aguilar also joined play in the second half, a regular coming off the bench this season.

And it was precisely Carla, completing a sensational collective display, who was decisive in providing the pass for the second goal to Ruth, who with a textbook counter, sealed the win (0-2, 91').

Three more points for Málaga CF Femenino, thanks to the notable work in defence, not forgetting the effectiveness on the attack, to claim 36 points and remain in the top 5 of the standings.

The upcoming two matches in the competition will see MCFF in action at the Francisco Romero ground in Rincón de la Victoria against CF Cáceres Femenino Atlético and CFF Albacete, respectively.
