Funes: “In Andorra, we’ll play those in the best condition to win”
The Blue and White coach held a press conference ahead of #AndorraMálaga. “The most important thing is to win this match, and we will make decisions thinking only about this game,” he said.
Two-match week
“It’s been a very short week, with fewer training sessions, but the players have recovered well, the goal we set after Leganés. All teams are on an equal footing. Andorra? It will be a unique match, due to the weather and the opponent, but we are approaching it with confidence.”
Weather in Andorra
“We have many players who are used to playing in these conditions. Perhaps the wind is the most troublesome. Football is a sport where you have to adapt to all circumstances and be able to compete in any context.”
Possible suspensions
“This is a very special situation, it happened many times in the Third Division. It’s a reality we have to face, and everything has to be assessed. It could expose us a lot for the Las Palmas match. We are focusing on this game, aiming to win it, and the most important thing is to win this match. We are aware of the difficulties of playing away, and we will make decisions thinking only about this game, hoping to have some luck in that regard.”
FC Andorra
“We are facing the most possession-oriented and pressing team in the league. Very different from other squads. And the two big wins they’ve had came from transitions. A team that can achieve those stats makes them very special. These are strengths, but they don’t make them invincible, and there are situations that could give us an advantage.”
Stage
“It’s a very particular situation. We are one of the few teams that, during this holiday period, will be away from home for the entire week. Returning to Málaga would have been worse, it’s a more unique week than others, and we will try to make the most of all the time possible to prepare for the Coruña match.”
Changes tomorrow
“We are going to try to make as few changes as possible, we’re not thinking about rotating for the next game. Tomorrow we will know how many (changes) there will be. We’ll play those in the best condition to win the match.”
