On matchday 8 earlier in the season at La Rosaleda, Málaga CF defeated the Madrid rival by 1-0 with a goal by Peybernes in minute 30 of the first half.
The rival, headed up by former Blue and White coach Sergio Pellicer, are currently in 21st place in the standings with 26 points, seven from the safety zone marked by MCF.
