From the blackboard of Muñiz

Four of the eight goals scored by Málaga CF, in the five LaLiga 1|2|3 games up to now, came from strategic plays. The Luis Hernández catapult generated three goals.

The factory run by Muñiz and his coaching team continues to bear fruit. In a closely-matched category, set pieces are a differential factor when deciding a match, and the Malaguista coach and his second in command, Álvaro Reina, are specialists in that area.

Of the eight goals scored by the Malaguista squad in the five league games to date, half came from strategic plays, three of which had the Luis Hernández stamp. The catapult of the Blue and Whites’ defender finalised the comeback against CD Lugo (1-2), preceded the 1-0 in the match against AD Alcorcón and opened the scoring in the last game against Córdoba CF. In addition, the third goal scored by Ricca against Córdoba also came from a set piece after an excellent Ontiveros free kick.

Of the 15 points won by Málaga CF in the domestic competition so far, strategy has been key to achieving six of them (Lugo and Alcorcón) and had a significant impact in the last win against Córdoba. In three out of the five victories, Muñiz’s blackboard has played a decisive role.
