Flávio: “The only thing missing was a goal against Levante UD”

Following his League debut with the Blue and Whites last night, Málaga Club de Fútbol’s Flávio Ferreira held a press conference after this morning’s training session at the Ciudad de Málaga athletics stadium.

Firstly, Flávio talks about last night’s match at the Ciutat de Valencia: “It wasn’t a great game for us as we didn’t bring three points home.  We worked really hard last night and had numerous goal opportunities, but we didn’t manage to equalise.  Although we lost, we played well.  It’s important to keep working hard and keep on the right track, that way we’ll return to winning ways.”

With regards to his debut with Málaga CF, Flávio is pleased with his performance: “I’m so happy I made my debut yesterday, and I felt really good having not played for quite some time.  The coach even congratulated me for returning to the field last night.  I never lost my confidence, and I’ve completely recovered from injury now so I hope to continue working hard to gain more minutes on the pitch.  I’m a defender, but if the coach needs me in midfield then I’ll do whatever he thinks is best.  I’m not usually a goal-scorer, but if the chance arises then I’ll give it my all.”

Flávio talks about Weligton’s injury during last night’s match: “I hope it’s nothing serious and he gets back on the pitch as soon as possible.  I really hope he has a speedy recovery.  He’s such an experienced player and has been teaching me well.”

Lastly, the Portuguese-born player discusses the team’s next rival at La Rosaleda: “Valencia are a tough team to beat, but even though we’re playing at our home ground, we’ll have to work hard for the three points.”
