Fifth edition of ‘A team against Gender Violence’

The MCF Foundation organised a round table on Wednesday 25th November for students at IES Miguel Romero Esteo, in order to raise awareness in the fight against gender violence.

For the fifth consecutive year, coinciding with the #InternationalDayForTheEliminationOfViolenceAgainstWomen, the MCF Foundation prepared a remote meeting, via Zoom, with students from IES Miguel Romero Esteo, with the aim of increasing awareness of gender violence amongst young people through the vision of athletes.

‘A team against Gender Violence’ was made up of Malaguista player Iván Calero; judo star Carmen Herrera; racing driver, Alba Cano and former Málaga CF Femenino goalkeeper Estrella Díaz. Exemplary speakers in a debate moderated by Ana Vera, Head of Communication, Marketing and Protocol at MCF.

This team, through their experiences and by listening to the Romero Esteo students, addressed the following topics: sexist habits and behaviours in sport; how barriers are overcome; education in values and awareness; media and influence.

Via this initiative, which this year celebrates five years, Málaga and its Foundation make their message very clear: ‘No to Gender Violence’.
