En-Nesyri will join the Morocco national team concentration tomorrow

Youssef En-Nesyri, one of Morocco’s three reserves for the upcoming World Cup, will be present for the preparation stage with the North African side for Russia 2018.

The Blue and Whites’ striker, called-up as a reserve together with teammates, El Hajjam and Mazraoui, will join the Morocco concentration getting underway tomorrow, Thursday at National Football Center ‘Maamoura’ in the Moroccan capital of Rabat.

The aim of Hervé Renard’s squad is to reach the World Cup in Russia in the best possible conditions, with Morocco facing Iran, Portugal and Spain in Group B of the first phase of the competition.

En-Nesyri will share training sessions and stay with footballers such as Benatia, a defensive pillar of the national squad, and various ‘Spanish’ players such as goalkeepers, Bono and Munir; Madrid winger, Achraf; midfielder, Fayçal Fajr and former Malaguista striker, Nordin Amrabat.

Year of consolidation

En-Nesyri, who will turn 21 in a few days, has completed his second season in the elite of Spanish football, making significant progress. The number ‘26’ played 24 LaLiga games with Málaga CF (4 goals) and 1 Copa del Rey clash, accumulating a total of 1.534 minutes of play.

International experience

This 2017/8 season, En-Nesyri was called-up by Morocco, competing with the U-23, U-21 and U-20 squads. Last season, he accumulated 15 caps with the Morocco national team, performing well in the Africa Cup in Gabon, where En-Nesyri scored a goal and an assist in four matches, reaching the quarter finals of the prestigious African tournament.
