The first round of matches for the Malaguista internationals has come to an end. Following the South American participation and a goal by Mikel – with Peñaranda as a substitute – in Venezuela-Peru, yesterday it was the turn of En-Nesyri in Africa and Boyko in Europe.
The young Blue and Whites’ striker was in the starting line-up in the friendly between Morocco and Burkina Faso, which ended in a 2-0 victory for the locals, with goals from Fayçal Fajr and Bouhaddouz. Youssef played for 53 minutes, and was substituted in the second half by his teammate, Boufal.
Meanwhile, Denys Boyko was the usual substitute goalkeeper for Pyatov in the Croatia-Ukraine clash (1-0, Kalinic), corresponding to the Group I European qualifier for the 2018 Russia World Cup. Following five matches, Croatia lead the table (13 points), ahead of Iceland (10 points) and Ukraine (8 points).
