Eliseu: “We have a very good opportunity to continue in the Copa”

Málaga’s Portuguese player, Eliseu Pereira, spoke in La Rosaleda’s press room this Tuesday.

Eliseu’s statements:

(Copa del Rey).  “A very important match from my point of view.  Málaga, for many years, haven’t made, or have been practically out of, the first knockout, and tomorrow we have a very good opportunity to continue in the Copa del Rey.  It’s our objective to get as far as we can in the Copa del Rey.  It’s a great tournament, playing with Málaga in the final would be a dream.  The return match awaits us, 0-1 is a dangerous result but at home, with our fans, we couldn’t ask for more.”

(Personal).  “I played the other day against Getafe, and tomorrow there’s another 90 minutes, and I hope to be available for the boss.  It’s a very important match, but we have our fans, we’re playing at home, and we have everything to get through.  I returned to my national side with a sprained ankle and I was three or four weeks without training, but now I’m much better.”

(Summary and aims).  “Firstly, to finish 2011 with a win, we have the obligation to deliver more than we have up until now.  Aim for 2012?  That Málaga are in Europe, and if possible in Champions.  Nothing in this life is easy, you have to work every day and show your boss that you’re ready to play.  All the positions are well covered and he who wants to play for Málaga has to work hard, or he doesn’t get in.”

(Valencia defeat).  “The team started off well and Valencia hardly approached and the boss was alerting us that the only danger option Valencia had was with Soldado, and that’s where Valencia’s goal came from.  Then they got more comfortable and with that confidence they resolved the match.  There’s lots to correct and we have the obligation to be in the top six positions.”
