The Portuguese player, Eliseu Pereira, was the Malaguista who spoke to the media today, Saturday, in the Ciudad de Málaga press room
Eliseu’s statements:
A long week “The week’s been too long after not having won out last match, but we’ve got to be prepared because on Monday we have another very important game. It’s a home match and we really want to boost our image after the match against Betis - even though that was a good game, it wasn’t in our plans to lose. On Monday we have another opportunity to turn that home defeat around.”
The need to score “We also have the need to score the three points to guarantee a European position, or perhaps something more. I’ll be monitoring how the day goes, but the most important thing is what we do. After the match against Racing we have a very tough away game with Villareal. But first we need to focus on getting the three points on Monday, that’s what’s important now.”
Rivals for Europe “We have a little advantage with regards to the points accumulated – against rivals for the Europa League – even though I don’t know whether that’ll determine the ending. We’ll see how we end-up in the championship.”
Personal “I try and contribute when I’m called on to play, to be always prepared to play both in defence and on the centre of the pitch. But above all I try and contribute.”
Holy Week “I’ve done it but there are a lot of people. I’d like to get more involved but with the amount of people, there’s lots of confusion and that’s very wearing.”
