Juanfran Funes' side officially got their 2026/27 campaign underway on Monday. Following a team meeting in the Juan Cortés press room at La Rosaleda Stadium, the squad began preseason training at the Annexe.
Moussa, Jauregi, Niño and Lobete attended Hospital Quirónsalud Málaga to undergo their preseason medical examinations. Later in the day, Alfonso Herrero, Carlos López and Andrés are scheduled to complete their medicals after taking part in the morning training session with the rest of the squad.
Goalkeepers Alfonso Herrero, Carlos López and Andrés took part in the session alongside defenders Carlos Puga, Einar, Pastor, Recio, Dani Sánchez and Rafita; midfielders Ramón, Izan Merino, Dani Lorenzo, Aaron Ochoa, Rafa, Arriaza and David Larrubia; and forwards Joaquín, Haitam and Chupe, all under the guidance of head coach Juanfran Funes and his coaching staff. The training session was also reinforced by four players from Atlético Malagueño: defender Santaella, midfielder Marcos Rosa, and wingers Juani and Adri López.
Meanwhile, Juanpe and Murillo continued their respective recovery programmes as they work their way back from injury.
The team will return to training on Tuesday morning at La Rosaleda Stadium’s facilities.
