There was an incredible atmosphere at Martiricos with a strong presence of Córdoba fans in the stands. On the pitch, Pellicer made three changes to his line-up compared to the previous match in Oviedo: Pastor, Dani Sánchez, and Kevin Medina replaced Nelson Monte, Víctor, and Antoñito.
In the first three minutes of play, David Larrubia had two attempts, one high with his left foot and another with a header, both creating danger for the Córdoba goal. The top scorer for Málaga, in the 68th minute, had the chance to equalise with a shot inside the box, but it was saved by the Córdoba keeper.
Antoñito Cordero replaced Chupe in the 72nd minute, marking the fourth substitution for Málaga. The team pushed for an equaliser in the final minutes, but Iván Ania's well-organised side held firm defensively, effectively dealing with Málaga's attacking efforts. Just before the end of the match, Córdoba could have extended their lead with a goal from Casas in the 95th minute, but it was ruled out for offside after a VAR review.
The final 0-1 result leaves Málaga CF with 42 points after 34 matchdays in LALIGA HYPERMOTION, sitting in 16th place, with a +3 advantage over the relegation spots.
