Duda: “The team is more united than ever in order to reach the objective”
Portuguese Málaga CF player, Sergio Paulo Barbosa 'Duda', spoke to the media today in the Ciudad de Málaga press room.
Duda’s statements:
(Granada-MCF). “It was a painful defeat that we weren’t expecting to have. We wanted to get the three points but it wasn’t possible. We have to work hard this week to recover the lost points. The objective remains the same: we want to be in Europe. There are a few teams fighting for the same thing, we know that it’s not going to be easy but the team is more united than ever in order to reach the objective at the end of the season. It’s not going to be easy, there are still many matches and there are some good teams; we’re not picking up points away so the only option that remains is to recover them at home.”
(Personal). “Everything about playing is positive. The important thing though is that the team wins, and he who plays has to be at 100 per cent in order to help the team reach its target. I keep on working, anyone can always play, I’ve been playing, like others, but the important thing is that whoever plays, contributes.”
(Unity). “The important thing is that the fans follow the squad until the end, we’re in it for the long-haul with them, and we’re going to fight to be in Europe. We’re ‘up’, we have a great squad and players, and we have to play it game by game and recover the points at home and do things properly away. We’re trying to give it everything and we’ve got to keep on working week by week, and look at the mistakes we’ve made away and improve on them.”
(Self criticisms). “We’re all to blame, coaches and players. The important thing is to all continue together to move this thing forward; after all, we’re not so far from the objective. There are many games ahead and now we have games that, in theory, if we want to be in European positions we have to win. We have to go hell for leather in the training sessions this week and on Sunday show some b*lls.”
(Mallorca). “They’re going through a good stretch; Capparrós has really improved Mallorca and they’re not easy matches. At home we’re strong, the only ones who’ve beaten us here are the two league leaders, and if we do things well and with our fans’ support, I think we’re going to win the three points.”
