Dotor: “It was a hard blow and it hurts a lot”

The Málaga CF player spoke in the mixed zone at the SkiFi Castalia. “You leave with bad feelings; this has to serve as a lesson for us,” he commented.

Sensations

“We’re all disappointed. It was a great opportunity to get two wins in a row and one away from home, which would have put us in a better position in the standings. We put in a very good performance, it was a tough, hard-fought match. In the end, those small details cost us with two goals conceded. This has to serve as a lesson, we’re hurting now, but we’re already focused on the next match.”

Substitutions

“I don’t think the substitutions had an impact. In the end, the whole team was tired because we put in a huge effort. Castellón is a team that makes you run a lot, they create many duels, and we needed to bring on fresh legs. Those who came on did very well, it all came down to small details.”

Strong performance

“You leave with bad feelings because of what happened, but it was a really good match. I spoke earlier with one of Castellón’s players and he told me we’re the only team that has really played against them here. And that’s true, we had a lot of possession and we should have been a bit more focused in that final stretch. But these things happen.”

Moving past the defeat

“We played a good match, we had chances and so did they. It could have easily ended in a draw, this is football and these things happen. The quicker we learn from this and pick ourselves back up, the better things will go for us.”

Now focused on Córdoba

“Of course, it’s a hard blow and it upsets all of us, but we have to bounce back. On Tuesday we’re back in training and we have to start preparing for Saturday’s match.”
