Demichelis: “It’ll be easier to make the corrections after such a great victory.”

Málaga CF’s Argentinean-born defender, Martín Demichelis, spoke to the media on Tuesday in La Rosaleda’s press room.

Demichelis’ statements:

(Málaga-Granada) “It was great to see everyone enjoying themselves and you can go home with peace of mind. This week it’ll be easier to make the corrections after such a great victory. Everything always needs time, even more so when there are new players. And it’ll take more time until the team works perfectly.  When the team and the fans pull together it’s more enjoyable, more comfortable.  Santi’s goal came quickly and it allowed us to feel more comfortable on the pitch.  There were some great individual performances and many at a group level too.  Defensively, we had a lot of work, but that was not reflected greatly in the result.  Granada’s got many teams to play and it won’t be easy to get over a 4-0 result.”

(A winner’s character).  “When you lose the best thing you can do is play again as soon as possible.  I like the atmosphere of annoyance when you lose as you should try and only ever be accustomed to winning.  That it hurts us to lose, and that it hurts us to draw, is a good thing”

(Fans).  We have to highlight and appreciate the amazing support of the public, and I’ll never tire of saying it.  I’m overjoyed how the people of Málaga and Andalucía lived those 90 minutes in the stadium.  I hope we’re able to give them lots more cause for celebration.  The idea is to grow as much as possible. The expectations and aims are as high as they can possibly be.”

(An important week) “After this match we have a week with three matches and I love these types of weeks. We have three matches and I hope we’re able to get the most amount of points to enable us to rocket up the table.  A win in Mallorca? If so, we’d begin to look up even more and that’s a good feeling.  Now we have to enjoy it, recuperate, and head to Mallorca with the intention of returning with three points.
