Málaga CF Femenino suffered a 0-2 defeat by CF Femenino Cáceres. Ali Muñoz scored the rival goals in a match where the Malagueñas were superior, but didn’t manage to get the ball into the net defended by Delia.
The Blue and Whites dominated the ball with ease in the initial stages of play. José Herrera’s girls were comfortable on the pitch and made attempts at goal with shots from Arantxa and Cintia that were deflected by keeper, Delia. Cáceres didn’t generate any goal opportunities thanks to the strong local defence. María Ruiz was close to opening the scoring with a free kick that Delia saved and sent to a corner in 27’. Despite the locals’ superiority, an Alicia Muñoz free kick put Cáceres 0-1 in front before half-time.
Gabi Morales and Yoli came on to the pitch no sooner had the second half got underway, substituting Judi and Farfán respectively. The entrance of the new Blue and White signing was a revulsion. In 50’, Gabi’s shot at goal came up against the rival defence. Minutes later, she was in charge of an assist for María Ruiz. The Malagueña headed the ball but it went straight to the hands of the keeper.
Luck wasn’t on the locals’ side who controlled and dominated play but couldn’t overcome Delia. In minute 70, an unmarked Ali Muñoz scored the second goal for Cáceres (0-2). The effectiveness of the rival defeated the Blue and Whites’ dominance, and for the first time in 12 games, the Malaguistas were defeated.
