Last Friday was the first time Málaga CF and AD Alcorcón faced each other in an official match, and the rival’s first visit to La Rosaleda.

The Malaguista manager returned to La Rosaleda as first coach, eight years later, for this third stage at the Club.  

• Debutantes at La Rosaleda

Seven Málaga CF players made their debut on Friday at the Blue and Whites’ stadium; Munir, Pau, N’Diaye, Renato Santos, Harper, Blanco Leschuk and Hicham.

For Pau, Renato, Harper and Blanco Leschuk, this was the first time they played at the stadium. However, Munir and N’Diaye had already debuted at La Rosaleda as visitors.

Hicham also knew what it felt like to play at La Rosaleda. He did so during his time with the ‘juvenil’ team when Málaga CF played FC Nitra in the first UEFA Youth League tie.

• The ‘catapult’ of Luis Hernández

The central defender is a throw-in specialist. His powerful throw-ins preceded the away victory goal against CD Lugo (1-2) and last Friday’s 1-0 against AD Alcorcón.

• Blanco Leschuk makes his scoring debut

The Argentine striker debuted at La Rosaleda with a goal. Like Saviola, Cazorla, Basti, Dely Valdés and El Hamdaoui, the forward got a goal during his first appearance in a home game.

• Pulido Santana again officiates in Málaga

The referee from the Canary Islands officiated a Málaga ‘B’ - CD Linares in Second Division B. On this occasion, the match was held at Polideportivo ‘Arroyo de la Miel’ in Benalmádena and ended in a 0-3 win for the visitors.

• First class fans

Although not a usual kick-off time, Friday at 22:00, the fans at La Rosaleda responded with a large influx, reaching a crowd of 18.626.
