Málaga CF Femenino lost 4-0 to Elche CFF at the Diego Quiles, with rival goals from C. Rabasco, Amaya, and Jiménez.
Sunday morning at Diego Quiles, the venue for #ElcheMálaga, corresponding to matchday 26 of Group 2 in Segunda Federación. Héctor Díaz selected the following starting XI, who took to the field at 11:30: María Arrabal, Encarni, Águeda, Mérida (C), Farfán, Lorena, Valeriano, Noe, Yoli Peche, Salvador, Alicia, and Andrea Herrero. The Málaga team struggled to find fluency in their play.
The first half played out at a slow pace, with little offensive presence from the Malaguistas. Elche, more persistent, threatened in the 11th minute with a double chance from C. Rabasco: a shot from the edge of the box that M. Arrabal caught, and another crossed shot that went wide. With few opportunities at either end, the half-time whistle blew with the score tied 0-0.
The start of the second half maintained the same pattern until, in the 57th minute, Claudia Rabasco put the home team ahead. The player won the position on the left wing, entered the box, and with a subtle toe-poke, she beat the Blue and White keeper with a nutmeg (1-0). After conceding the goal, the Málaga coach made substitutions in the 64th minute, bringing on D. Bertuchi and Arantxa for L. Herrera and Salvador in search of a reaction.
However, barely a minute later, Elche extended their lead. A cross from C. Rabasco to the far post found Amaya, and with a precise header, she made it 2-0. A harsh blow for the Málaga side, who were struggling to stop the opponents' attacks and create any danger in the opposing box.
In the 81st minute, Amaya came close to her double with a shot from the left wing that hit the crossbar. Two minutes later, in the 83rd minute, the third goal arrived.
In minute 84, Yessenia, Águeda, and Futu came on for Mérida, Yoli Peche, and Andrea Herrero.
Málaga tried, with little success, to generate some reaction. In the 86th minute, Arantxa took a free kick that was easily stopped by Rocamora, and in the 91st, Yessenia also tried, but her shot was blocked by the opposing keeper. Finally, in the 94th minute, Jiménez sealed the scoreline with the fourth goal for Elche, following a set-piece play.
The next match will be on Sunday 13th at 12:00 against Fundación Canaria Club Deportivo Tenerife at the Ciudad Deportiva Fundación MCF.
