Official statement
In reference to the expulsion of Sergio Pellicer from yesterday’s match at El Maulí against Antequera CF (Sunday 29th October, Primera Federación matchday 10), and what was reflected by the referee in the referee's report of the aforementioned match, Málaga CF would like to state the following:
In minute 94 of play, the Malaguista coach responded to a comment from the opposing bench referring to Malaguista defender, Murillo. Pellicer said: “You won’t surpass us, you won’t get above us today or tomorrow.”
The Club understands that this response may have been misinterpreted by the referee due to the noise at the ground. However, MCF is obliged to clarify that the coach never said anything “provocative” - as the minutes state - towards Antequera CF, but rather the intention was to defend his player.
Málaga CF would like to publicly thank Antequera CF for their hospitality and congratulates both fans for showing an example of sportsmanship and brotherhood.
