Clo seals another league win from the penalty spot (0-1)

Victory for Málaga CF against Granada CF ‘B’, away from home, on matchday 17 of Primera Nacional Femenina Group 4. A narrow Blue and White win to keep the girls out in front at the top of the table.

The second match of the week for Ayala’s girls, after the game against Rayo Vallecano (0-2) at La Rosaleda that knocked the Malaguistas out of the Copa de la Reina.

MCFF stepped on to the pitch at La Juventud with the following starting-11: María Arrabal; Encarni, Olmedo, Ruth ©, Marina; Farfán, Teté, Clo, Bertuchi; Judith and Torralvo.

The first half ended goalless, although Málaga dominated play and generated several occasions via Farfán, Torralvo and Clo. It was precisely the Galician-born player, at the start of the second half, who sealed victory against the Red and Whites with a penalty (0-1, 50’).

In the final minutes, despite a narrow lead, MCFF held on to their advantage to claim another three league points.

Málaga have accumulated 16 victories and one draw in 17 games so far in the competition, winning 49 out of a possible 51 points to maintain the top spot in the standings. Next week the girls are again away from home against Santa Teresa ‘B’.
