Chavarría: “I work hard to get in shape”

The Malaguista striker held a press conference in the Juan Cortés press room at La Rosaleda following the LaLiga SmartBank matchday 19 fixture. “We have to think of something else in order to try and win our first away game,” he said.

Chavarría appeared in the mixed zone following the game against SD Amorebieta. After his injury, he talked about his mixed feelings. “I’m happy to be back in action following this minor muscular injury. We didn’t play a good game, they performed well and got two goals in the first half. Paulino’s goal arrived late and we couldn’t go level,” he affirmed.

The Argentine forward analysed the match: “We tried to have possession and progress. Paulino played as a midfielder, the rival closed up the spaces and things became difficult. They were very solid in defence, they have a very direct play, seeking out their strikers, who were good today. We made mistakes in defence that we need to improve. These are things to work on and improve during the week. We have to think of something else in order to try and win our first away game,” he commented.

Lastly, he talked about his recovery and how it felt to be back on the pitch: “I work very hard to get in shape. It’s not easy, when I returned I suffered a muscular injury. That’s in the past now. I’m focused on accumulating minutes, helping the coach when he needs me and being useful to the team,” he added.
