Cazorla, in the starting line-up in Spain’s defeat in Italy

The Málaga FC player, Santi Cazorla, participated in the international friendly on Wednesday evening that pitted Spain against Italy at the San Nicola stadium in Bari, before 50,000 spectators. The Spanish side was defeated 2-1, with goals by Italians, Montolivo and Aquilani, and Spain’s Xabi Alonso, who took a penalty. Cazorla, with the number ‘20’ on his back, was in Vicente del Bosque’s initial line-up as a midfielder and enjoyed a chance with a long shot at in the 33rd minute. The Asturias-born player was replaced by Mata in minute 80. The other Blues and Whites player called up to be at Spain’s encounter with Italy was Nacho Monreal, but he wasn’t able to play due to the physical problems he suffered earlier on in the day.
