Isco and Recio in the quarter finals of the Under 20s World Cup
The two Málaga FC players at the Under 20s World Cup in Colombia, the central midfielders Isco and Recio, have taken part in the quarter finals with the Spanish national squad. Julen Lopetegui’s team now moves on after the draw (0-0) against the Republic of Korea, which moved into overtime and a penalty shootout, ending in a 7-6 victory for Spain. Both Isco and Recio scored goals that were key to the Spanish victory, which was fought tooth and nail. Both came off the bench in the second half, in Isco’s case to replace Dani Pacheco in minute 51, and Recio replaced Rodrigo in minute 89. Spain now qualifies for the following round of the tournament, and keeps intact its chances of becoming world champions in this category.
