International quality with Cajuste

Málaga CF have signed midfielder Jens Cajuste for the 2026/27 season. He joins on loan from Serie A side SSC Napoli, with an option to buy.

The new Blue and White player arrived in Málaga last night, completed his medical today and signed his contract at La Rosaleda alongside Loren Juarros, the Club’s sporting director.

Jens-Lys Michel Cajuste (Gothenburg, Sweden, 1999) is a technically gifted midfielder with a powerful physical presence who operates in the heart of midfield. Of Swedish descent, he has been a regular member of the senior national team since 2020.

After completing his youth development and beginning his senior career with Swedish side Örgryte IS, Cajuste spent four seasons (2018-22) at Danish club FC Midtjylland. His biggest achievement came in the 2019/20 season, when he helped the club win the Danish Superliga, earning a place in the UEFA Champions League the following campaign.

He then spent a season and a half at French Ligue 1 side Stade de Reims before moving to Napoli in 2023. During the 2023/24 season, the Swedish midfielder made 32 appearances for the Italian club, including 26 in Serie A and six in the Champions League. Over the past two seasons, Cajuste has spent time on loan from Napoli at English club Ipswich Town FC, who earned promotion to the Premier League in 2025/26.

Cajuste joins the Club at the peak of his footballing maturity, having just turned 27, bringing a wealth of playing experience in three of Europe’s five major leagues. A player of international quality at both club and national team level, he adds further options to Juanfran Funes’ midfield.
