Bueno: “I’ve always viewed this Club as a benchmark”

Alberto Bueno was presented at La Rosaleda as a new Málaga CF player. “We’ve got a difficult challenge ahead, but I’m ready to face it with a lot of enthusiasm”, he says.

The Club’s sports director, Mario Husillos, speaks about the striker, who will wear the number ‘19’ jersey with the Blue and Whites: “He’s a player who has been within the Club’s ideas for many years. This is the ideal moment for him to be here, and we thank him for choosing us and being here with us”.

Arrival at Málaga

“Personally, I am moved by sensations and new challenges. Málaga is a great city and a great Club. From a sporting point of view, we’ve got a difficult challenge ahead, but I’m ready to face it with a lot of enthusiasm. Now’s the time to select this option, and there are possibilities to do good things and change the situation. I’m delighted with the welcome I received from my teammates and the coaching team, and my eyes will be open in daily training. I see everyone is focused on what we’re doing, which is a great deal”.

Referential Club

“I’ve always viewed this Club as a benchmark, and in the past, I was close to coming here but it wasn’t to be. Every player wants to feel settled and have stability, my time with Porto wasn’t entirely easy. I’m thrilled to have this opportunity and am determined to do well”.

Personal situation

“I focused on looking after my family and myself in the hope of an exit in January. I’m a footballer, I love what I do, and I’m not new to the Spanish League; the people know me, I can help my teammates and bring great enthusiasm and quality to the minutes I play to assist the group”.

Motivations

“What has motivated me is that Málaga is a great club and a great city, and this is a wonderful challenge. Míchel knows me and I know him, I think now is the right time to be here, it’s a brilliant opportunity. I’ve got teammates I know from other teams, and both they and my new teammates have welcomed me with open arms. I’m here to help us reach our marked objectives”.

Rhythm and qualities

“I’m a professional, and the only thing I need is the rhythm of competition. I need the pace of matches. I will try to be an option for the coach, and if he sees fit, I’ll be available (…) Where I feel most comfortable is behind the striker. I think there I participate more in the game. I hope to perform well for myself, but above all for the good of the team”.
