Strong start to preseason at the Ciudad Deportiva (5-0)
Málaga CF secured a win in their first summer preseason friendly against Antequera CF. The goal scorers for the Blue and Whites were Chupe (24’), Larrubia (35’), Niño (51’ and 69’), and Dani Lorenzo (81’).
After two weeks of training, Málaga CF faced their first test of the summer preseason today against Antequera CF at the Ciudad Deportiva Fundación MCF. In the stands, there was representation from clubs participating in the Framework Agreement. On the pitch, Antequera CF, a Malagueño club from the Primera Federación that competed in last season’s promotion playoffs for LALIGA HYPERMOTION.
Sergio Pellicer chose the following startin-11: Carlos López; Gabilondo, Luismi, Einar, Víctor; Izan M, Dotor, Rafa; D. Larrubia, Chupe, and Lobete. In the first half, the team looked solid and energetic, controlling possession for most of the time. In the 24th minute, Chupe broke free from the centre-back and scored the opening goal of the match (1-0), also Málaga’s first goal of the preseason. Just a few minutes later, in the 35th minute, Larrubia finished off a brilliant team play with a fine strike from outside the box to make it 2-0.
After the break, 10 changes were made to the line-up, forming the following 11: A. Herrero; C. Puga, Pastor, Murillo, Dani Sánchez; Joaquín, Izan M., Juanpe, Dani Lorenzo; Niño, and Jauregi.
Málaga’s newest signing didn’t take long to make his mark. In the 51st minute, he latched onto a great cross from Dani Sánchez to score the team’s third goal (3-0). In the 67th minute, Sangalli came on to replace Izan M., and just two minutes later, in the 69th, Joaquín produced a brilliant solo move and found Niño inside the box, who netted his second of the match (4-0).
In the final stretch, around minute 81, Dani Lorenzo combined with Juanpe at the edge of the box and, after dribbling past several defenders, scored the fifth and final goal of the match (5-0). With this victory, Málaga CF wraps up their first friendly of the 2025/26 preseason.
