Blue and Whites’ Values invade La Rosaleda

Around 4,000 school children watched this morning’s training session from the ‘preferencia’ section of the Martiricos stadium.

Málaga CF, via its Foundation, invited numerous infant and primary school children to this morning’s open training session at La Rosaleda.  Approximately 4,000 boys and girls had the opportunity to watch their idols at work.

Students from 14 schools visited the stadium today, 13 of which are involved in the Blue and Whites’ Values campaign: CEIP Blas Infante, CEIP Los Ángeles, CEIP Virgen de Belén, Cooperativa de Enseñanza Gibraljaire, CEIP Vicente Aleixander, CEIP Manuel Fernández, CEIP Salvador Allende, CEIP Luis Buñuel, CEIP Simón Bolívar, CEIP Benito Pérez Galdós, CEIP Giner de los Ríos, CEIP Cayetano Bolívar and CEIP Paulo Freire, plus an invitation by Málaga’s Provincial Government; CEIP San Isidro.

At the end of training, a number of children representing their schools stepped on to the pitch to take a group photo with the players, and also went away with signed footballs for their schools.

Basti, from the MCF Foundation’s Social Department, sums up the day: “We wanted all the schools taking part in the Blue and Whites’ Values campaign to attend a first team training session.  It was a great success.”

The Club, in collaboration with ‘la Caixa’, visits different schools in the city to convey values related to sport to young children, such as friendship, healthy habits and caring for the environment.  The Blue and Whites’ Values campaign takes members of Málaga CF’s first team and Atlético Málaga as examples to meet the school children.

Juan Carlos Barroso, regional manager of la Caixa Foundation, comments that the bank is always ready to collaborate with “anything that helps the children, and undertake a project that is directed to educating them about healthy habits,” and also, with this initiative, “the impact is much greater when they have these references.”
