Blue and Whites’ reserve team prepares to welcome UD Maracena

Atlético Malagueño will play host to UD Maracena tomorrow, Sunday 9th February, at the ‘Federación Malagueña’ ground. The 25th Third Division Group IX match of the season kicks off at 11:30 a.m.

The Blue and Whites’ reserve team is currently in third place in the group, just a point away from joint leaders, Marbella FC and Linares Deportivo.  Coach Salva Ballesta doesn’t have Rafa de Vicente or Borja Jurado available tomorrow, due to an accumulation of yellow cards, whilst Rufo and Juanpi are both out through injury.  Álex Portillo, Mosquera and Iván Rodríguez could all be called up, having been in training all week with the first team.

The rival is UD Maracena, currently in 10th place in the group, following a 4-1 defeat by Villacarrillo and a 6-0 win over Español del Alquián.  The Granada-based side has seen a change in the dugout this week, with Juanjo Rodríguez making his coaching debut with the team on Sunday, formerly with ‘Primera Andaluza’ side, Santa Fe.

Tickets for this match are just one euro for Málaga CF season ticket holders, and five euros for the general public.  Málaga CF would like to remind fans who attend the reserve team games not to throw their tickets away, as they could win two VIP tickets for the first team’s next match at La Rosaleda, or a gift pack of Club merchandise.  Tickets can also be used to obtain a one euro discount in ticket offices and official Club stores.

At. Malagueño line-up: Toni and Sergio (goalkeepers), Iván Rodríguez, Alberto, Álex Portillo, Mosquera, Cris Tissone (defence), Marrufo, Joel, Deco, Ernesto, Vela, Pablo (midfield), Mauri, Pedro and Samu Castillejo (strikers).
