Atlético Malagueño heads to Ejea de los Caballeros

Málaga CF’s reserve team is heading to Ejea de los Caballeros in Zaragoza today, ahead of tomorrow’s first leg match in the promotion play-offs to Second Division B against SD Ejea, kicking off at 7 p.m.

Salva Ballesta’s boys have qualified for this season’s play-offs as the youngest Blue and whites’ reserve team to do so, having scored the highest number of points in 10 years.  The coach is unable to be in the dugout tomorrow as he completes his second and final match suspension.  Mauri and Sergio Ríos are both injured and remain out of the line-up, along with Pablo Ganet who didn’t recover in time from a sprained ankle.

Tomorrow’s rival, SD Ejea reaches the play-offs having finished in third place in the group, with 72 points from 20 victories, 12 draws and eight defeats.  Ex footballer, Loreto’s team conceded the least number of goals in the group, just 29.
