Atlético Málaga visited IES Cerro del Viento today, Wednesday in Benalmádena, to chat about gender equality in football. The event is part of a series of exhibitions organised by the school in relation to International Women’s Day.
The presentation was undertaken by the women’s first team players, Pamela, Yamila, Chelsea and Laura, and second coach, Isabel Guerrero. They talked to the students in attendance about their professional and personal experience in relation to football and encouraged the girls to take part in sport.
The visit was part of the Blue and Whites’ campaign, organised by the MCF Foundation, in collaboration with ‘La Caixa’. As such, Sebastián Fernández Reyes, ‘Basti’ from the Málaga CF Foundation’s Social Department was present, along with José Miguel Fernández, director of the ‘La Caixa’ branch in Benalmádena.
Isa Guerrero is pleased with the outcome of the forum, and explains the experience to the Club’s media: “We talked a little bit about equality or inequality that exists between men and women, emphasising our experience and day to day work as players” says the second coach after the event.
