Atlético Malagueño
At. Malagueño defeats Los Molinos and narrows the gap in the fight for group top spot

The Blue and Whites’ were victorious against the Almería-based side (3-1), to take their place as Third Division Group 9 leaders this morning, as they await the other results from Marbella FC and Linares Deportivo’s games this afternoon.

A fantastic goal from Juanpi following a free kick, another by Ernesto after an impressive combinative display and a penalty taken by Samu Castillejo were the three Blue and Whites’ goals.  In the 90th minute, Domínguez scored for Los Molinos.

The four goals took their time in coming in this match, with Malagueño not opening the scoring until the second half.  During the first 45 minutes, the Blue and Whites maintained ball possession well, whilst the rival waited on them to make a mistake on the attack and stop the rhythm of play.

At the start of the second half, Los Molinos had two clear chances to score, but a shot from right in front of the box sailed over the crossbar.

Salva Ballesta brought Juanpi on in minute 55, and just four minutes later he scored the first goal of the match.  The Venezuelan-born player scored from a free kick from the edge of the area, in a shot that the ‘Malaguistas’ claimed should have been a penalty.

The locals kept the pressure on the rival and generated further goal chances in order to increase their lead and seal their victory.  Ernesto’s goal followed a change in Rafa de Vicente’s usual movement on the pitch, which saw Jurado move up the wing, passing to Zalea who assisted Ernesto in finding the back of the net.

Samu Castillejo sealed the Blue and Whites’ victory with a penalty, following a foul committed on him by the rival inside the area.  Atlético Malagueño will have to wait a few more hours, or perhaps another match, depending on this afternoon’s result between Loja CF – Vélez CF to see if they have secured their place in the promotion play-offs to Second Division B.
