Angeleri: “It’s a rewarding and well-deserved victory”

Angeleri, Juanmi and Kameni appeared in the mixed zone at the Nou Camp following today’s 0-1 victory against FC Barcelona.

The ‘Malaguista’ defence worked hard and put on an outstanding performance.  Angeleri was aware of the effort needed in order to win: “Against rivals like this, it takes a lot of hard work.  Everything went as we had prepared, and fortunately we’re taking home three points, which isn’t always possible from this ground.  It’s a rewarding and well-deserved victory.”

Málaga CF maintained a clean sheet against FC Barcelona today “as we remained tight in midfield, and preferred for them to arrive on the wings so that when it came to their shots at goal we were as strong as possible.  Our strikers played a great game today too, and thanks to the effort from everyone on the team we achieved this important victory.”

Juanmi: “It was a very complete match”

Today’s goal-scorer is very pleased with his win at the Nou Camp: “I’m so happy as we deserved a victory like this.  We played a very complete match, it was everything we were hoping for, and we went all out in order to gain a positive result.”

Juanmi is still not focusing on any other objectives other than permanency: “We’re having a great season, and with this mentality we can go far.  It’s important to remain calm as there’s a long way to go yet, but this victory will help to strengthen us as a team.  Permanency is our primary goal, and working hard every day will help us to do that, but for now we’ll enjoy this great win.”

Kameni: “This is an historic and important moment for us”

Kameni was delighted as he appeared in the mixed zone, having not conceded a goal against FC Barcelona, and almost assisting in Juanmi’s goal: “It’s very difficult to beat Barcelona, so we really need to savour this victory.  The team did a marvellous job, every single one of us.”

Kameni also evades the subject of other objectives: “We can’t talk about how the season will end for Málaga, but with a lot of hard work, this young squad is achieving great things.”
