Andrea, a homegrown goalkeeper

Málaga CF Femenino will continue to have Andrea Ríos for the 22/23 season, who together with María Arrabal will defend the Blue and White goal in the new Segunda Federación.

The goalkeeper signed her new contract at La Rosaleda’s offices, accompanied by Alicia Fuentes, MCFF coordinator, and Manolo Hernández Navarrete, head of the Club’s women’s section.

Andrea Ríos Montiel (Málaga, 1999) trained in the youth ranks of Club Atlético Málaga, and before returning to the team last summer, she belonged to Club Atlético de Madrid, Fundación Albacete and UD Almería.

During the 21/22 season she played eight matches (four goals conceded) in Primera Nacional Group 4, being part of the Blue and White team that finished the league season unbeaten.

In addition, Andrea combined her football with that of goalkeeper coach within the lower ranks. She’ll continue doing this during the upcoming season with the women’s reserve team, led by Javi Ramos, which will begin its pre-season next week with ‘forever’ player Leandro Villatoro as assistant coach.

One of our own is staying with us for another year. Let’s go Andrea!
