Álvaro Fernández debuts in Juan Cruz’s U-18s

The MCF Academy goalkeeper and midfielder will join ‘La Rojita’ between 14th and 16th May for a series of training sessions at Ciudad Deportiva de Las Rozas.

The prolific Malaguista youth ranks continue to nourish the lower categories of the Spanish national team. On this occasion, there are two players from the Juvenil División de Honor (league champions) who have been called-up to Spain’s U-18s to take part in training sessions at Las Rozas.

Málaga CF has contributed the third highest number of players to this call-up to Spain’s U-18s, after Madrid CF and Villarreal CF. Athletic Club, FC Barcelona, Atlético de Madrid, Sevilla FC and Valencia CF also have two representatives to this call-up.

Goalkeeper, Álvaro Fernández and midfielder, Juan Cruz are regular fixtures in the Spanish national team’s youth categories. The Malaguista keeper was in action in the U-17 World Cup held last summer, with Spain finishing runners-up. Meanwhile, Cruz was previously called-up to the U-18s in March.
