Alhaurín de la Torre once again features in Malaguistas to the Core
The Costa del Sol town, named ‘Best European City for Sport’ in 2015, returns to La Rosaleda following the success of the campaign in the 21/22 season.
Alhaurín de la Torre has become a national and international benchmark in regard to quality of life. The care of its streets, the efficiency of municipal services, rich gastronomy, prolific real estate, extraordinary sports facilities, the numerous connections with the nearby city of Málaga - barely 19 km away - and, of course, the kindness of its inhabitants, make Alhaurín de la Torre meet all the requirements to become the dream home for Malagueños.
As well as all these benefits, well known by its more than 40,000 inhabitants, it also boasts an amazing offering for visitors: The Sierra de Jarapalos, the Casa del Conde, the Fuensanta Convent, la Ermita del Alamillo, the Muslim Tower, Cuevas del Barrio Viejo, Santuario del Carbón, Finca El Portón, the Parish Church and the Arcos de Zapata are enclaves that cannot be missed. As if that weren’t enough, Alhaurín de la Torre is home to the 'Torre del Cante' Flamenco Festival, a national benchmark for this art declared an intangible cultural heritage, as well as the passionate and charismatic Easter Week.
Alhaurín already 'invaded' La Rosaleda last season with its citizens, who cheered on the team at the Malaguista stadium. This year, the Málaga municipality once again is part of this initiative and will accompany Málaga CF in their match against CD Tenerife (Saturday 7th January at 18:30).
A bus will collect 50 ‘Alhaurinos’ from their town and bring them to La Rosaleda. Along the way they’ll don the official MCF shirt. Once at Martiricos, now in uniform, they’ll make their way to the stands to cheer on their team. There they will see Alhaurín de la Torre feature on the video scoreboard, ‘U’ television and through the public address system. In addition, 11 boys and girls from the municipality will accompany the team in the Escort Kids feature.
