Despite the draw at home, the Blue and Whites’ reserve team remains at the top of Third Division Group IX. After eight matches, Málaga Femenino suffered their first defeat of the season in Huelva.
The provincial derby, held at the Federación Malagueña, ended in a 1-1 draw. Nané put the Malaguistas in the lead, but straight afterwards José Capitán equalised for a very tough, competitive CD Rincón just before half-time. Malagueño are still the group leaders (36 points) after 15 games, with a one-point advantage over Almería B.
Antonio Contreras’ girls were defeated by Sporting Club in Huelva on Sunday. Following a goalless first half, local player, Cristina scored two goals in minutes 55 and 76. Sheila, in minute 79, narrowed the gap, but the girls were unable to clinch a positive result. The rival is now top of the group with 21 points, whilst Málaga move to 3rd with 19 points, one point less than second-placed Granada CF.
